The Fashion Retail Academy (Ofsted outstanding) is a unique, industry led college. Founded by retail giants, we offer a range of exclusive Fashion courses with unparalleled industry involvement to ensure you gain the skills and contacts needed to successfully progress to employment.

We work with over 130 brands to ensure all of our courses have regular input from industry, enabling you to gain a real insight and understanding of the fashion retail environment through internships, industry lead projects and master classes. We work with industry each year to develop new courses and to ensure the content of each matches employer expectations which helps you secure a job and hit the ground running.
All of our Level 4 (and some Level 3), Fast Track and Intensive courses include a two or three week high quality work placement with a major fashion brand. This enables you to try out the skills you will have developed and provides an unrivalled, invaluable experience. Many of our graduates are offered full time jobs as a result of their industry placement.
Industry Linked Projects
All of our courses benefit from a project set by a well known fashion brand. Often you will present your work to the retailers’ management team, giving you exposure to high profile industry leaders combined with the opportunity to work on a live industry challenge. Projects have been set by a wide range of retailers including Top Shop, Converse, Lipsy, River Island, Diesel, Next and Marks & Spencer.
All students at the FRA benefit from the money can’t buy opportunity to hear directly from some of retails biggest names through our successful Masterclass programme, with presentations and a Q&A session. Previous guests have included ASOS; Chloe Miles – Fashion Blogger; Zalando; FRA Alumni Sorcha Kelly now Junior Merchandiser - Accessories at NET-A-PORTER; TK Maxx & New Look.
Introducing you to industry and building your skills, confidence and knowledge to enhance your employment prospects is central to our mission. Our twice yearly industry weeks provide you with a range of activities run by internal staff and practicing industry professionals as dedicated blocks, alongside the other extracurricular and industry involvement on your course. Our annual careers day is perfectly timed to provide you the unrivalled opportunity to network and apply for roles with major fashion brands. Our 2016 Careers Day was attended by over 30 brands including Asos, Selfridges, Kurt Geiger, Lipsy, Liberty, River Island, H&M, Harrods, Top Shop and Ted Baker. Many students secure employment as a result and go straight into a job after graduation.
We offer courses to suit all time frames, abilities and budgets. Our fully funded one and two year courses are available to students aged 16-18 at Level 2, 3 and 4 across a range of subjects. Adult learners (19+) can choose from our Traditional (starting in September with term breaks built in), Fast Track (delivered two days per week over 22 weeks for those who wish to carry on earning whilst they are learning) and Intensive courses (delivered five days a week over 12 weeks for those who want the quickest route to a new job).
Our tutors have all worked in the industry in their chosen field (many still do) and come with a vast amount of knowledge, experience and contacts to support students at every stage of their development. Our tutors have worked at brands such as Selfridges, Austin Reed, River Island, House of Fraser and include Senior Buyers, Visual Merchandisers and Designers.
State of the Art Facilities
Our state of the art modern facilities just minutes away from Oxford St, Tottenham Court Road and other major rail stations, has recently benefited from a £2 million facelift. This includes a new Mac suite within our Digital Hub, extensive specialist library with dedicated quiet zones for study, a pop-up shop to expose students to a real life retail situation, a new technology suite and hot desk hubs for hire.
