Saturdays, 10am to 2pm, at the Fashion Retail Academy
APPLICATIONS OPEN FROM MONDAY 13TH JANUARY 2025
Saturday Club
The Fashion & Business Saturday Club is a 30-week, free course for young people. Supported by the British Fashion Council, you'll experience working in fashion and discover the different job roles available in the industry.
We’ll help you grow in confidence whilst you learn new skills from our experienced tutors. You’ll have maximum creative freedom, as there are no grades or assessments! Best of all, you can make new friends by joining a group of people all with a shared interest in fashion.
What you'll learn
The 30-week course will guide you through the world of fashion from product idea to shop floor. You’ll examine the stages of clothing creation, before discovering how the business side of a fashion brand functions.
- Inspiration and research
- Design and pattern development
- How to choose fabrics
- Clothing construction and how garments are made
- Fashion illustration and photography
- Visual merchandising
- Fashion styling and mannequin dressing
- Marketing and PR strategies
You'll take part in cultural trips, such as visiting the English National Opera to learn about costume design. At the end of the course, there is a public exhibition of everyone's work at Somerset House, London, as well as a graduation ceremony.
Thank you Silvia, and the rest of the Fashion Retail Academy, for teaching me! I've had the best time at Saturday Club and I’m going to miss it.
It's been fantastic! Joining Saturday Club helped me decide that this is where I feel happy, and how to move forward with my future career.”

We had many trips to places that I would have never been to if it wasn’t for the Club. We went to the Royal Opera House costume design department and went to many fabric shops, vintage stores, and Selfridges.
Saturday Club
I valued speaking to people from industry, learning from their experience and understanding more about their different job roles.
Saturday Club
Saturday Club has become a second home for my daughter and she’s gained such a lot of confidence during her time there.
