At the Fashion Retail Academy, we focus on real-world experience to set you up for success in the industry. Our BA (Hons) Marketing & Communication for Fashion degree course blends creativity with practical skills, giving you the skills, experience and industry connections you'll need to start your career.

Project Spotlight: Developing Digital Strategies for Real Brands

As part of our BA (Hons) Marketing & Communication for Fashion degree, you'll take part in exciting projects, such as creating digital marketing strategies for real businesses. Students have chosen brands across different industries and worked on developing strategies based on in-depth research into markets, consumers and competition.

Some students even had the chance to present their strategies directly to the client, gaining valuable industry experience and confidence in presenting their ideas.

Student Success Story: Digital Marketing Strategy for Benefit Cosmetics

One standout example is from Marie, who developed a digital marketing strategy for Benefit Cosmetics. She conducted thorough research, analysing the competitive landscape and identifying the brand's target audience. Marie's strategy included specific goals, such as increasing brand awareness and customer loyalty.

Marie's approach included practical tactics, a detailed timeline and a budget breakdown, showing her ability to create a comprehensive digital strategy.

the project process

Each project is designed to help you put your learning into practice, so you're ready to enter the industry when you finish your course. Here's a look the process for this digital marketing project:

Choosing a brand: Students start by selecting an existing business or start-up, making sure there's enough market data for in-depth research.

Researching the market: Students go on to examine competition, consumer behaviour and market trends to build an informed foundation. They look at industry reports, consumer data and digital marketing frameworks.

Creating a digital marketing plan: Using the SOSTAC model (situation, objectives, strategy, tactics, action and control), students put together a digital strategy that includes goals, creative tactics and a solid action plan. It's a chance to bring their best ideas to life, with guidance every step of the way.
