UCAS Extra 2025 Explained

arrowBack

6th March 2025

If you've used all of your five choices on your UCAS application and don't hold an offer, UCAS Extra allows you to apply for free between 26th February and 4th July 2025 for any undergraduate degree at the Fashion Retail Academy.

What is UCAS Extra?

UCAS Extra lets you apply for another university course if you haven't accepted or received an offer from your original choices. It's a free process designed to help students find the right course before Clearing begins in July.

Who Can Use UCAS Extra?

You're eligible if:

  • You've used all five UCAS choices
  • You've received decisions from all five universities
  • You haven't received any offers or have declined them all

Please note: If you apply through UCAS Extra, you can't return to your original five choices.

What If You Haven't Used All Five Choices?

If you didn't use all five choices in your initial application, you can still add another course until 30th June, as long as you haven't accepted or declined an offer.

What If I Don't Hold An Offer After 5th July?

You can still apply to the Fashion Retail Academy through Clearing, which opens in July.

How to apply to the FRA Via UCAS Extra

Step One: Find Courses with Vacancies

  • Use the UCAS Search Tool and select 'Show courses with vacancies' to see available options.

Step Two: Apply for Your Chosen Course

    • Once you've chosen your course, add it to your UCAS application. There's no extra fee!

Step Three: Wait for a Decision

    • We'll review your application and respond as soon as possible
    • If you don't hear back from us within 21 days, you can either wait or choose a new course through UCAS Extra. You could also follow up your application by contacting Falmouth University.

Please note: You can only apply for one course at a time in UCAS Extra, so choose wisely! Unlike the main UCAS application, there's no insurance choice.

Updating Your Personal Statement for UCAS Extra

UCAS Extra doesn't allow you to submit a new online personal statement or reference. If you're applying for a different subject, you can send an updated, relevant person statement after submitting your application.

How to Send an Updated Personal Statement

Email it to applicantservices@falmouth.ac.uk after submitting your UCAS Extra choice. Include your UCAS application number so they can match it to your application.

What Happens After You Receive an Offer?

    • If you're offered a place at the FRA, you'll need to accept it through UCAS Extra
    • If you don't accept you offer by the deadline on your UCAS homepage, it will be automatically declined
    • Once you accept an offer through UCAS Extra, you can't apply to any other universities via Extra
