Last week, we welcomed Rachel Blake, Member of Parliament for Cities of London and Westminster, to visit Electra House and meet some Fashion Retail Academy students.
As our local MP, elected in July 2024, Rachel was keen to see how we are settling in at our new home on Moorgate, and met with our Chair of Governors, Kim Longman, for a tour of the building.
Kim showed Rachel around our beautiful new campus, stopping off in the Library and Café on the third floor and the Fashion Design Wing on the fifth floor.
Finally, Rachel visited the Level 4 Fast Track Buying & Merchandising class where the students were debating the difference between what’s trending and what’s a trend.
Rachel spoke to some of the students about their journey so far, and their reasons for choosing the FRA and what they were working on at the moment.
The students shared their experiences of changing careers and talked about how they are enjoying the fast pace of their course, which they complete in just 22 weeks. All the students were looking forward to going on their work placements soon before graduating.
We are grateful to Rachel for taking the time to visit the Fashion Retail Academy and look forward to working together in future!
