Here at the Fashion Retail Academy, we offer a range of undergraduate degree courses to help you take the next step to a career in fashion.
Our undergraduate degree courses are Fashion Business, Buying and Merchandising, Marketing & Communications for Fashion, Sustainable Fashion, Fashion Communications & Styling, User Experience Design for Retail, Data Analytics For Retail and Art Direction for Fashion. All of our degree courses are BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) qualifications, which help you to develop the skills and connections you need for a successful career in the fashion industry.
ABOUT OUR DEGREES
Our courses have been developed in tandem with our industry partners, allowing students to work on real-world briefs and projects, gaining unrivalled access to some of the industry’s top brands.
Most of our fashion degrees are accelerated 2 year programmes, saving you time and money! You will have three week's industry experience with a major brand each year and have access to your personal industry mentor who will offer guidance and support throughout the programme.
DEGREES WE OFFER
BA (Hons) Fashion Business
Our Business Management for Fashion degree course explores the commercial, ethical and financial factors that impact brands and how to navigate these to build a successful business plan. The course arms students with the leadership and business skills to manage global brands, or even start your own fashion business.
BA (Hons) Buying & Merchandising
From product concept to consumer, with our Buying & Merchandising degree course, you will examine the whole supply chain to build the skills for a successful career in fashion buying and merchandising. You will learn how to plan and trade a fashion season, as well as explore consumer profiles, consumer behaviours and the impact of trend analysis.
BA (Hons) Marketing & Communications for Fashion
Marketing and communication teams are what give fashion brands their voice. With our fashion marketing degree course, you will learn how to produce, communicate and implement effective marketing campaigns, combining creative and analytical skills for maximum impact, in order to drive sales and profits.
BA (Hons) Sustainability in Fashion
Our Sustainability in Fashion undergraduate course explores the pressing sustainability issues facing the industry today and how businesses can overcome them. You’ll look at the social responsibility of the fashion industry and the role of the retail sector from an ethical perspective, and learn how to make the industry more sustainable and ethical while still making businesses profitable.
BA (Hons) Fashion Communications & Styling
By studying our undergraduate Fashion Communications & Styling degree course you’ll explore communication in a fashion environment through a range of mediums and develop your own creative practice and professional portfolio. You’ll be able to create effective communications strategies, as well as develop the technical and analytical skills you’ll need for industry.
BA (Hons) User Experience Design for Retail
By choosing to study BA (Hons) User Experience Design for Retail, you’ll develop the essential technology and creative skills to create user experiences needed that are intuitive, engaging and cultivate brand loyalty. Learn the difference between User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design and understand how both areas relate and work together to create vital user experiences. Develop your creative research skills and learn how to use essential UX/UI software.
BSc (Hons) Data Analytics for Retail
By choosing to study BSc (Hons) Data Analytics for Retail, you’ll learn the essential data gathering, analysis and management skills needed to effectively interpret data and create innovative solutions to business problems. Learn to identify, understand, and solve problems facing brands, understand how to interpret trends and how to analyse your findings to highlight new opportunities for a business in any area of industry.
BA (HONS) ART DIRECTION FOR FASHION
Combine creative and technical skills to create captivating fashion imagery for brands through fashion photography, film, illustration and visual communications and media with this new undergraduate degree. This brand new course will teach you the skills required for an exciting and successful career in fashion art direction by developing your creativity and technical knowledge of digital image making techniques.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO STUDY A DEGREE?
Most of our undergraduate degrees are accelerated courses, meaning you can complete your studies in two years. We also teach a traditional three-year BSc (Hons) Data Analytics for Retail undergraduate degree.
HOW MUCH DOES AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE COST?
If you are 18+, a UK resident and studying for an undergraduate degree with us, your fees will be £11,100 per year for our two-year accelerated degrees. Fees will be £9,250 per year for our three-year degree.
Most UK students don’t have to pay fees up-front, and loans are available.

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE STRUCTURE
At the Fashion Retail Academy, we structure our timetables over two full days a week. This means you can save money on travel to the Fashion Retail Academy, and you’ll have plenty of time to complete coursework, independent study or work part-time on your free days.
Alongside your academic learning, you’ll gain invaluable first-hand experiences from our industry partners and support in building your professional network. As part of our undergraduate courses, you’ll take part in projects set by our brand partners, which are designed to give you a deeper understanding of the industry and its current challenges.
The Fashion Retail Academy's extensive links with the fashion industry are one of the best parts of the Buying & Merchandising course. They've given me the confidence that when I graduate I'll be completely ready for a job!
